Carl Lee Rodgers was born February 24, 1933 in Hammond, Texas to the parentage of Earnest and Corine Rogers. Carl accepted Christ at an early age and attended Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church in Calvert, TX.
In 1948 he moved from Limestone County to Fort Worth, TX later relocating to Dallas in 1950. While in Dallas he was employed with Austin Construction Company.
He married Lorene McDonald Parramore in 1954 with whom he began to grow his family.
As an entrepreneur in the early 60's, he started Carl Lee Rogers Auto Clean, later changing the name to Carl Rogers Detail Body Shop. Although he retired in 2010 he continued to "go to the shop" daily until his death.
Carl joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor G B Prince. As an active member Bro. Rogers was an active member of the Brotherhood and served on the # 1 Usher Board until his health began to fail.
Carl parents proceeded him in death as well as his beautiful wife Lorene; sisters; Valentine "Babe", Ernestine, Fannie Mae, brothers; Earnest Jr. and Willie Lee; and sons, Johnny Bruce and Alvin Willis.
Carl Lee departed this life Sunday, May 5, 2019. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, brother, Pastor R. L. Rogers; six daughters, Rose, Fay (Roy), Ona (Augustine), Bonita, Shirley, and Audrey; four sons, Rickey, Carmel Lee (Winnie), Jackie, Frankie (Gloria); daughter-in-law, Roxie; 48 grandchildren, 94 great-grandchildren, 24 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
