Obituary

Candace Larissa McCoy was born to Thelma Ruth McCoy on November 17, 1976. She departed this life on August 24, 2023, at 6:30 am in the present of her brother, Doran Senat and her cousin, Tamara Gilreath.

She is preceded in death by her mother Thelma Ruth (McCoy) Senat, brother Gary McCoy, grandmother Odessa Lovely, cousin Alicia Ruth Johnson, and uncle Curly Louis McCoy.

Candace first attended Merrywood School in Duncanville, TX before attending schools in the Dallas Independent School District. She graduated from Plano East High School in 1995. She was also a member of the famed Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra and played the viola. She loved sports, especially football and track and was known in the family for having a unique sneaker collection. She loved to travel and visit new places. Most of all she loved being with her family and was the life of any family gathering with her jokes and facial expressions. Candace put her faith in and believed in Lord Jesus Christ and her family was her faith community.

Candace also leaves to mourn special friends: Darren Wright, Antwan House, Donald Jackson, Keith Sibley, Monte St. James, Derick Miles, Sophia Macintosh, Niesha Dupree, and Tommie Ross. She worked as a healthcare administrator and leaves behind many coworkers at The Care Team. She is survived by her fur baby Bailey McCoy, brother Doran Senat, Cousins Tamara Gilreath (Kelly), Florence Lewis (Olen), Tara Dennison, and Tanya Dennison. Her aunt Mary Alice McCoy, aunt and uncle Fidelia and Larry Johnson, and aunt Elsa McCoy (Curly). She leaves behind nephews: Christopher and Zahir Johnson, Khaire Gilreath, Kaden Gilreath (Kendyl), Kynan Gilreath, Kaleb Gilreath, Kyle Gilreath, and Tristan Dennison. Several nieces also mourn her passing: Olivia and Sydney Lewis, Jarae, Jordan, and Jacquelyn Gilreath, Kiera, Nevaeh, Melody, and Harmony Dennison. Best friend and caregiver, Sha-Ron Hadley
