Bonita Ann Stiggers was the second of five children born January 3, 1947 to the Late Willie Howard and Erma Jean Freeman of Greenville, Texas. She was reared and educated in the Greenville Independent School District where she graduated from Carver High School in 1965. Bonita later attended and graduated as the Salutatorian of Amherst School of Business in 1991. She was employed for 14 years with Texas Instruments as a Line Manager and later retired as an Educator with Crockett Elementary School in the Greenville Independent School District as well as a part-time Customer Service Clerk with Wal-Mart of Greenville, Texas.
Bonita Ann Stiggers accepted Christ at an early age at the Rose of Sharon Church of God in Christ, where she was baptized under the leadership of the Late Elder A. C. Craig. In 1973, Sister Stiggers moved her membership to the Full Gospel Holy Temple Church of Greenville, Texas, where the Late Elder Adell Williams was the pastor. She also served under the leadership of Elder James Coleman. She was a faithful Sunday school teacher, president of the Usher Board and a holy ghost filled, power packed choir member. She later answered the call to evangelism and was ordained as Evangelist Bonita A. Stiggers. After many years of living in Greenville, Texas, Bonita Stiggers relocated to Dallas, Texas where she joined the United Holiness Deliverance Temple under the leadership of Apostle Harold Rogers. She continued her work for the Lord by being faithful to the ministry of evangelism, ministering in song—choir and praise team, while also adding to her service the Mother's Board.
October 9, 1971, Bonita married David B. Stiggers, Sr.; they were married for 45 years. To this union, two (2) children were born, one (1) daughter, Lanita and one (1) son, David Jr. Bonita Stiggers always wanted four (4) children and stated, "God gave me my son and daughter through my children's marriages." Thus, she never had a son or daughter in law—they were her children.
Mother Stiggers had an elegant peace about herself throughout her life. Regardless to her struggles, she bore it with a smile. She loved her family and cared for them all.
