Obituary

Bobbye Hazel McGee Baker, born July 24, 1931 in Mexia Texas, to Alvin McGee and Ethel Wyatt-McGee. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers O.C. McGee, Tommy McGee and her twin Billy McGee, Bennie and Cecil Medlin and sisters Lesta V. Bluitt, Frances Wagoner and Doris Jean Jackson.

Bobbye was raised in Dallas Texas and a 1948 graduate of Lincoln High School. After graduating, she married Billy Baker and to this union one child Deirdre was born, she was preceded in death by her husband. Bobbye went on to further her education in several development college programs @ Eastfield & Mountain View College, University of Texas and Texas Southern University.

Bobbye gave her life to Christ at an early age uniting with the Bethlehem Baptist Church and later joining with New Mount Corinth Baptist Church, Dr. Richard Roundtree and lastly serving with United We Stand Christian Fellowship Church, Rev Charles Gamble, Pastor. Her time was spent in various ministries and leadership in Sunday School and the Women's ministries and she was so proudly recognized as one of the Mother's of the Church. She dedicated her life to working for Christ until her departure from this life on January 20, 2022.

Bobbye served the Dallas metropolitan community for over 50 years. She dedicated much of her life and time to helping others by organizing community, public service and volunteer efforts. She led and partnered with various public organizations and corporate entities to help benefit the workable solutions with the involvement of residents and the community. Her experience in social work and her continued education in Human Relations, Life Advisory and Advocacy Programs fostered an environment of exemplary performance in delivering outstanding results and accomplishments

Bobbye is survived by her loved ones: daughter, Deirdre Scott; grandchildren, Brittany Scott and Jermey Estes and one great grandson, Jaise Estes; sisters, Pearl Williams(Samuel), and Vivian Starling; brothers, Murrary Medlin, Henry McGee(Emma Dell). Willie McGee, Harold McGee(Rosetta), Arthur McGee(Donobbra) and Art McGee(Diane), all of Dallas Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends who were blessed to know her.
