Life Reflections
At the end of life, Paul said, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7-8 Just like Paul, on Wednesday October 20, 2016, Bobby Clarence quietly surrendered to the same scripture. He recognized the need to Press on in the race marked out for him was ending. He also knew that God is both a promise-making and promise-keeping God and will reward those who faithfully finish the race. He desired to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far. Philippians 1:23 Family, friends and those who loved him dearly. Let us remember, "To be absent from our bodies is to be home with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8
On February 14, 1969, Bobby Clarence was born to the parentage of Bobby Ray Cox and Judith Cox-Reaves, in Long Beach, California. He received his education from a variety of Educational institutions including the following: DeSoto ISD, Tuskegee University, South-Western State and Cedar Valley College. He earned the credits for an Associates of Arts Degree.
In loyalty to his country, he served in the U.S. Armed Services for 21 years. His tours of duties included Desert Storm, Afghanistan and Iraq. Later, in his professional careers, Bobby worked for Dr. Pepper, Inc. as a machine operator, Idion Security as a security Officer, and Texas Prison Systems as a guard.
Bobby excepted Christ at an early age, ending his Christian journey at Friendship West Baptist Church.
He will be remembered for his quick wit, motivational attitude, great smile and loving Spirit. HE was an avid sport's fan who loved all the local teams. Bobby loved the latest fashions and he loved to travel. He will be missed by each of us, as we strive to live life to its fullest, just as he did.
His survivors are : a loving, caring mother, Judith Cox Reaves; father, Bobby Ray Cox; daughter, Victoria Cox; brothers, Jessie Ray, Khari (Ajia), Anthony and Raymond Herring; sisters, Sharifa (Cameron) Bates and Shuntane Reaves; aunts/uncles, Beverly Cox Williams (Wilber) and Jesse Cox (Winifret), Amos (Sandra) Walston of Texarkana, TX., Donald Walston of Ft. Walton, Fla., and Crystal Burris of San Antonio, TX. and a host of cousins and friends. Last but not lease, a very special friend, Shanette Furlough.
The Final Salute to Bobby Clarence Cox will commence on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Dallas Fort National Cemetery. You may visit him as he slumbers at the funeral home in Dallas on Thursday from 2 P.M. until 9:00 P.M.
