Mrs. Bobbie Jean Shoate was born on July 28, 1951 to the late Andrew and Bessie Shelton in Dallas, Texas. She was the first of three children. Bobbie married Harry Shoate on July 11, 1970 and they were blessed with two daughters, Karen LaVonne and Shalonda Elaine Shoate and three grandchildren, London, Morgan and Emmanuel Campbell.
Mrs. Bobbie Shoate graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in Dallas, Texas. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Secondary Education from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas. She was employed with Dallas Independent School District and worked at Franklin Middle School as a history teacher for many years. After leaving Dallas Independent School District she worked for the Private Industry Council of Dallas, and continued educating students atthe Wilkerson Center as a GED Instructor for the Adult Basic Education Program. She was a member of Grace Bible Church
During her spare time she enjoyed working in her yard, attending church functions and spending time with her grandchildren, daughters, other family and friends. Bobbie was member of Grace Bible Church of Dallas. Although, she enjoyed teaching her first love was bringing individuals to Christ.
Bobbie is survived by her husband, Harry Shoate of Dallas; mother in law, Mable Ann Shoate of Dallas; daughter, Karen Shoate-Campbell of Dallas; son in law, Henry Campbell of Houston; granddaughters, London and Morgan Campbell, grandson, Emmanuel Campbell, sister Mary Ann White; niece and nephew Tonya and Ronald White and Dominque Washington, special friends and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
