Bobbie Ann Cole was the daughter of the late Phelon Herman Cole and Ardella Cole. She was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 18, 1953. Diagnosed with Bipolar at the age of 13, Bobbie didn't allow this ailment to stop her from creating a life she loved and accomplishing some of her goals.
Bobbie graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School in 1972. She joined the Air Force in August 1978. Due to health conditions, Bobbie received an honorable discharge. Leaving her first dream for her future behind, Bobbie enrolled at Texas A & M College in Commerce, Texas.
In 1978, Bobbie earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She taught 5th Grade Math at Wilmer Hutchins Elementary School, until she retired on March 31, 2009.
Bobbie's co-worker's spoke highly of her hard worker ethics and outstanding vision for creating a classroom environment for her students to one-day step into an outstanding future. It was evident to them that Bobbie's main focus was always on making a difference in the lives of the students she taught and came in contact with. Bobbie's relationship with her students went beyond just teaching math. She instilled in them the importance of displaying good etiquette and focusing on setting short-and long-term goals and achieving them.
Bobbie accomplished another one of her goals! She took driving lessons and learned how to drive a car when she was in her 40's. Bobbie bought her first car, a Toyota Camry. She was so excited to be able to drive herself to the store and other places. Bobbie left a legacy for her family to be proud of!!!
Bobbie leaves behind: Brother Glenn Edward Cole; Sister-In-Law Earnestine Cole; Aunts: Gloria Williams, Pennie Mae Williams, and Violet Rand; Uncle Robert Williams; Nephews: Jason Cole, Justin Cole, Marcus Goynes, Carl Gilbert Jr., and Kolotyolo Yeo; Nieces Dr. Veronica Cole-Yeo and Tamara Cole; Great-Grand-Nieces: Vivian Yeo and Amber Ojo; Great-Grand Nephews: Jaystin Cole, Kingston Yeo, and Seun Ojo; Great-Great-Grand Nephews: Josiah Ojo and Jahdai Ojo; Great-Great Grand Neice: Ja'el Ojo; and Cousins: Kendrick Brown and Stacy Williams. And a host of other cousins.
In death Bobbie joins her parents: Phelon and Ardella Cole; and her two brothers: Frankie Lee Gilbert III, and Carl Gilbert.
