Obituary

Beverly was born to Alex and Eleanor Green on June 22, 1947, in Palmetto, LA. She was called home on March 22, 2023.

Beverly attended Grambling State University and moved to Houston, Texas, shortly after graduating. She was a dedicated employee at MD Anderson Cancer Center, from which she retired. She was a faithful member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. Beverly began her service here with the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary, joining Court #359 in 1998.

Beverly moved to Dallas, Texas, in 2007 and later transferred to St. Fidelis Court #102. She was an active member of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, where she served as a member of the Alter Guild. She was bestowed the honor of Gracious Lady as a 4th Degree member of the Inez Y. Brown Chapter. Beverly loved to garden and took pride in growing her beautiful flowers. She loved to sew and would always have a project in the making.

Beverly is survived by four sisters, Nettie Green Durio (Van) of Kenner, LA, Sandra Green Dumes (Ray) of LaPlace, LA, Cathy Green Alexander (Vaniel) of Dallas, TX, Lisa Green of Baker, LA; three brothers, Donald Green (Marcie) of Houston, TX, Ray Green of Elgin, OK, Patrick Green (Lena) of Pasadena, TX; two sisters-in-law, Catherine Green of Opelousas, LA and Shirley Green of Scott, LA; one uncle, Raymond Green of Shreveport, LA; three aunts, Adeline Smith of Texas City, TX, Hinda Semien and Retha Green both of Palmetto, LA; her companion, Peter Moore; twenty nieces and nephews affectionately referred to as her munchies; and 38 great nieces and nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by her mother, Eleanor Semien Green; father, Alex Green Sr.; two brothers, Ronald Green Sr., and Alexander Green Jr.; and one nephew, Cedric Green.

Beverly was a strong Christian woman. She gave much of her time in service to others and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. May she now rest in peace.
