Born on September 26, 1933, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Betty Jo lived a remarkable life marked by grace, resilience, and an enduring spirit. Her journey spanned over nine decades, touching the hearts of many and leaving a legacy that will be cherished forever.
Betty Jo’s life was a testament to kindness and strength. From her humble beginnings in Baton Rouge to her final days in Dallas, she embodied love in every action and word. Her presence was a beacon of warmth and comfort, offering solace to those fortunate enough to know her.
A series of memorial events have been thoughtfully arranged to celebrate Betty Jo’s life and honor her memory. On April 30, friends and loved ones are invited to a visitation at Evergreen Memorial Funeral Home, located at 6449 University Hills Boulevard in Dallas, Texas, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This will be followed by a Memorial Gathering at the same venue beginning at 7:15 PM and concluding at 8:15 PM—an opportunity for all to share stories, memories, and laughter in her honor.
The celebration of Betty Jo’s vibrant life will continue on May 1 at St. Luke "Community" United Methodist Church, situated at 5710 E. R.L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas. From 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, family and friends will gather to reflect on her lasting impact and the precious moments shared.
Finally, Betty Jo will be laid to rest on May 4 at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas. The burial service will begin at 10:30 AM and conclude at 11:30 AM, a solemn farewell to a beloved soul whose memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
Though Betty Jo Tanner has passed from this life, the love she gave and the lives she touched endure as a testament to a beautiful, fulfilling existence.
