Taylor, Jr.

On Thursday, January 21, 2021, at 10:31 am, Bennie Roy Taylor, Jr.'s journey ceased as he when to sleep in the Lord.
At the of age 84, was born on Saturday, May 23, 1936, in New Smyrna, FL by mid-wives to the late Frances and Bennie Roy Taylor, Sr. (deceased), and as one of three siblings: Joyce Stanley (deceased), and his twin sister, Barbara J. Brooks. He lived in Miami, FL for over 30+ years prior to moving to Dallas Texas.
Bennie attended the Seventh Day Adventist School and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1953. After high school, he joined the United States Army and served his country in the Korean War as a Military Police. Upon separating from the military, he volunteered much of his time at the Veteran's Administration (VA) Hospital in Miami, FL, and leaves behind his brave and courageous Brothers-in-Service.
Bennie joined the Seventh-Day Adventist Church at a youthful age. While attending church, he always held a position of Leadership as (Head Deacon and Usher). He was always affectionately called, "Deacon Taylor." One of Bennie's most favorite pastimes was singing in the church choir. His voice rung out with great enthusiasm and harmony as he sang praises to the Lord.
Bennie's personality was greatly admired as well as his character was extraordinarily expressive, sociable, quick-witted, and to say the least, he was very patriotic. In addition, he was deeply passionate about his hobbies as he enjoyed building model planes, cooking (Jalapeno Cornbread), traveling across the USA and multiple countries, boxing (sparred with Muhammad Ali and Ezzard Charles), telling vivid stories of his life in the Military, writing letters (beautiful "cursive" penmanship), and faithfully reading the Word of God.
He held various positions to include holding a CDL driving 18 wheelers across the United States, Postal Service, Greyhound Bus, Pepsi Co, State of Florida Highway Patrol, Chauffer, and a General Contractor.
Bennie is survived by his wife, Linda Taylor; (4) children, Bruno A. Taylor, Sr., (Gail), Gino G. Williams, Fawn E. Taylor, Anita B. Canada (Marcus), and Faith F. Walker (Wayne). He also leaves a host of (14) grandchildren (Shawntae A. Taylor, Bruno A. Taylor Jr, Benjamin A, Taylor, Brittany A Taylor Watoiya W. Williams, Terry Williams Jr. Dorian M Williams, Dashawna R. Englemon-Minnifield, Anthony R. Thompson, Taylor E. Thompson Carlos C. Clark, Kaela Raifoed (John), Kyle L. Taylor Walker, Marcus L. Canada Jr.), great-grandchildren (15), nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Many may remember Bennie ending all his telephone calls by saying, "Take Care, God Bless and I Love You!"
