Obituary

Benita Ann Cotton-Creag was born October 17, 1957 to the late George Cotton Jr. and Ruby Lee. She was the third of four children who was raised by William and Ruby Lee.

Benita graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in 1974. She was in the South Oak Cliff Golden Bears Marching Band and a majorette.

Benita met and married the love of her life on January 31, 1975, Alexander Creag. To this union they were blessed with their children Shun, Alicia, Dion and Brenden.

Benita joined Allen Chapel Baptist Church at an early age. She was a devoted leader over numerous auxiliaries throughout the years. Just to mention a few she was the Mass Choir President, over the Kitchen Ministry, a Sunday School teacher and she diligently worked with the Youth Department.

Benita has been an asset to the Insurance Industry for over forty years. During her 15 year tenure at Gallagher Bassett she received numerous accolades for achieving the Silver award for American Educational Institute. Benita will be sorely missed by the industry.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Ruby Lee; her sister, Glenda Cotton; nephews, Quillon Cotton and father, George Cotton Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memorie: husband, Alexander Creag of Seagoville, Texas; son, Alexander (Jamila) Creag of Arlington, TX; daughters, Alicia Creag-Smith of Plano, TX and daughter, TuShun Creag of Bedford, TX; one granddaughter, Martika Creage and seven grandsons, Alexander Creag, Antonio Creag, Camy'ron Creag, Malachi Creag, Eli Creag, Xander Creag and Christopher Smith; two brothers, Thomas (Patsy) Cotton of Dallas, TX, James (Lorraine) Lee of Dallas, TX, Preston brothers of Center and Houston, TX and a host of nephews,nieces, cousins and friends.
