Barbara was born in Rusk, Texas she came to Dallas at a very young age. She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Prairie View A&M University. She worked for Texas Instruments and after 32 years she retired .

Barbara is preceded in death by 1 brother Stanley Ray Gibson and 1 sister Willie Carol Gibson Braggs.

Barbara leave to cherish her memories one Son Kenneth Collins 1 Sister Glenda Joyce Gibson, 2 nieces Carrol McBeth and Telesse Gibson and 1 nephew Kereen Duponte Gibson, and a host of family and friends.
