Barbara Jean Skelton passed away surrounded by her immediate family on 11/07/2023. Emerging from obscure and humble beginnings in
Navasota, Texas on March 7, 1948. She was the 5th of 7 children born to Robert and Marie Jones. Barbara graduated in 1966 from George Washington Carver High School in Navasota, Texas, where she was a star basketball player. She began her adult life in Dallas, TX. where she worked as an insurance agent for A.L. Williams. Barbara pursued her passion for fashion eventually owning a boutique. She also worked for RISD as a bus monitor retiring in 2016. Barbara became a faithful member of The Jehovah Witness faith until her death. When she was not working hard she loved to shop and dress to impress. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Barbara married Charles Edward Skelton in 1967, who preceded her in death.

Survived by (6) children: Michelle Tunwar, Michael and Michele Jones, Cheryl Ekwunife, LaShan Skelton, Tammy Skelton and Barron Skelton. (9) Grandchildren: Nakiethie Jones, Camela Skelton, Calisha Tunwar, Tremayne Skelton, Barron Skelton Jr., Shaquanna Skelton, Ariel Anyanwu, Darius Goodson and Marques Jones; (16) Great grandchildren: Asia Bright, BraSean Dunn, Talin Robertson, Laila Bright, Sanii Mukandi, Mia Mukandi, Ari Starr, Ahna Starr, Taleiah Smith, Kamaya Smith, Panashe Mukandi, Aries Anyanwu, Olaiya Smith, Orion Wayne Aaron, Kassidy Smith. Survived and loved by a host of nieces and nephews.
