Barbara Ann Crockett was born in Dallas Texas, to Lois Crockett and JC Crear on January 7, 1954. During a brief stay in Gladewater, Texas she attended Weldon School. Barbara grew up in Dallas, and attended Dallas Public Schools, ultimately graduating from Franklin D. Roosevelt High School. Barbara also attended El Centro College in Dallas,and went on to complete her studies at North Texas State University in Denton, Texas with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. While in Denton, Barbara pledged and became a proud member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Incorporated.

Barbara's work experience included St. Paul Hospital and dedicated service with Parkland Hospital where she later retired.

As we all know, Barbara enjoyed going to church. Whether it was a musical, funeral or revival, she LOVED having Good (CHUCH!) Barbara's church work defined who she was. She became a member of Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in September of 1986. Barbara worked with the Hospitality Ministry for over 23 years and was also served as Vice President. She was faithful, dedicated and loved serving in the Hospitality Ministry.

Barbara was preceded in death by her mother Lois Crockett Clay, father JC Crear, sisters Sherlene Green, Clara Mae Smith, brothers James "Pete" Clay, Floyd Crockett, Jesse Crear and JC Crear Jr.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memories: a host of relatives, friends and church family. Her infectious smile will be engraved in the hearts of many. We can almost hear her saying her favorite salutation…
