Obituary

Augustus Capers (A.C.) Williams was born in Marshall, Texas on August 25,1947 to proud parents Joseph Capers Williams and his wife, Sarah Mae Phillips Williams as the third of six children. He fell asleep in death on May 11,2022 at the age of 74.
He was married to Carolyn Jean Taylor on May 25, 1977 in Odessa, Texas. To their union were born two children, Shawn Williams and Kedrick Lemond Williams.
A.C., as he preferred to be known, attended Pemberton High School in Marshall and graduated in 1966. He dedicated his life and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1966 in Kansas City, Missouri. Thereafter he served as a regular pioneer and because of his stand as a conscientious objector he spent several
years in the Seagoville Correctional Institute with many of his other spiritual brothers. He later moved to Dallas,
Texas as a member of what is now the Fairpark Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, where he also served as an elder for a time. Throughout his life, as long as he was able, he could often be seen preaching his beliefs from door to door and at a local stand.
A.C. was a man of few words, but he knew how to add a humorous touch to any occasion. He was a lifetime fisherman and oftentimes could be found with his many fishing buddies. Watching and playing sports was a hobby of his throughout his life and he watched all local sports teams, especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was also well known and loved by his neighbors on Springlake Drive, his home for over 40 years and those neighbors would lovingly look in on him as his health declined.
A.C. was preceded in death by his mother and father and two of his siblings: older brother Odell Williams (Georgia) and younger brother James Earl Williams (Maple, also deceased). He leaves behind his wife Carolyn, and their two children Shawn and Kedrick Williams, and his beloved granddaughter, Kennedy Taylor Donaldson. He also leaves behind his older brother, Joseph Capers Williams, Jr. (Sylvia), his younger sisters Ruth Williams Barrientos (John) and Anneata Williams; uncle Simmie Williams, aunt Vannie Williams, nieces Nykia LaShonda Williams Whiteside (William) and Sharhonda Williams, and, Marsha Gail Williams and great- nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. The family wishes to acknowledge  and express appreciation for the many expressions of sympathy and support from all
Kedrick Williams
