ANNIE'S LIFE EPITOME
Annie Lee Hardaway Williams was born on December 24, 1924 to the loving parents of Luther Hardaway and Lela Jones. She attended Elementary and High School in the St. Paul School System, Neylandville, Texas. While in High School she excelled as a honor student and athlete. Annie was a member of the St. Paul Basketball Team during her tenure there.
After graduation, Annie married her High School Sweetheart and was blessed with two children. She later married the love of her life and soul mate, Earnest Williams. From that union they were blessed with four other children. She and her husband Earnest moved to Dallas with their family in 1963.
After the journey and settlement of her family, they united with Mosley Chapel CME Church in Dallas, Texas. She remained a member of Mosley Chapel from 1963 until her untimely death.
"Mother" Annie was a devoted and faithful member of the Missionary Society and Emeritus Stewardess. She was active in all aspects until her health begun to fail. Even after she was no longer able to serve in that capacity because of her failing health, she helped in preparation of the food for the homeless.
On December 9, 2023, as Annie peacefully slept, the angels whispered to her to come home and have sweet rest in the bosom of her almighty father.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Luther Hardaway and Lela Jones Jewright; loving husband of thirty-five years until his death; Earnest Williams , one brother; TJ Hardaway, one son; Rickey Starr Williams, grandson; Wendell Cooper and granddaughter; Janette Loppy.
Annie leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Doris Grant, Don Jones, Stevie Williams, Janet Mitchell (Danny) and Bruce Williams (Dorenda); all of Dallas, Texas.
To mourn her beautiful life are her ten grandchildren, Davette Warren, Annette Moorehead, Lakenya Williams, Kendrick Williams, LaDonna Davis, Keonna Showers, Ashley Evans, Tamika Davis, Bruce Williams, Jr., and Janari Williams; twenty-five great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
