Annie Ruth Stiggers was born to Nathaniel and Ruth Nell Stiggers on September 3rd, 1939 in Commerce, TX.

She attended Norris High School in Commerce, TX, and was a member of the basketball team. She was also a member of C.M.E. Church in Commerce, TX.

After graduating in 1957, she attended Tyler Barber College in Tyler, TX. She then began her career as a barber at Katie's Barber Shop on Oakland in Dallas, TX before gaining employment at DFW Airport, where she stayed for many years. After the shop closed, she continued her career at Hurd's Barber Shop in Dallas, TX until she retired in 2020.

Her parents and brother Douglas Stiggers preceded her in death.

She is survived by her loving sister, Arvesor Lewis, a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, loving friends, and other relatives.
