ANNIE DAVIS was the eleventh of thirteen children born to Theo Green, Sr. and Pearlie Green on March 1, 1944 in Karnack, Texas. Annie accepted Christ in her life according to Romans 10:8,9 in 1956 at Peter's Chapel in Karnack, Texas. She was educated in the Caddo Parish Public School System where she graduated from George Washington Carver High School in 1961. Her desire to engage in higher education led her to Prairie View A&M University and then Bishop College in Dallas, Texas where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education in 1970. After graduation from Bishop College, Annie went on to work at McKesson Pharmaceutical and then to Texas Instruments. She found her true calling when she went to work at the Parks and Recreations at the City of Dallas. Annie climbed through the ranks while working at a few centers including, Martin Luther King Recreation Center, Turner Courts Recreation Center, Rhodes Terrance and finally Tommie Allen Recreation Center, formally known as Highland Hills Recreation Center. As manager of Tommie Allen, she led the charge to have the center named after Ms. Tommie Allen, a faithful supporter of the Highland Hills community. While there, Annie created "safe spaces" for the youth of the neighborhood and just about every one of her nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews spent their summers attending camps and learning how to swim at the center. Annie was commended with various awards and certificates during her tenure at the City of Dallas. Annie was heavily involved in local politics and donated her time and treasures to various religious organizations over the years. Annie's sons Randall Keith Green and Anthony Craig Green were her heart. As a single mother she raised them in a loving home and instilled in them an appreciation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Annie married Arnold Davis in 1978 and they were married until 2000. Annie attended First Family Church where the Pastor was Rev. Bert Albirtton in Dallas Texas for 9 years before joining Destiny Pointe Christian Center September, 2000 formally Agape Christian Fellowship. Minister Annie served faithfully in numerous ministries throughout the church including Director of Member Services, Prayer Ministry, Baby Dedication, Baptism, Ministry Outreach, Operation Christmas Child, Food Bank and the Sick and Shut-In.
