Obituary

Anna Lucene Brantley Davis was born on May 17, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Ross T. Brantley Sr. and Donna R. Tubbs, both of whom preceded her in death. She was the fifth of eight children. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Rosalind Brantley (1971), and her two sons, Timothy Brantley (1987) and Christopher Brantley Sr. (2016).

Anna attended Joseph J. Rhoads Elementary School and Oliver Wendell Holmes before entering South Oak Cliff High School. At the age of 17, she earned her GED, demonstrating her determination and resilience. In 1977, she answered her call to serve by joining the United States Army. Continuing her commitment to personal and professional growth, she became a Certified Nursing Assistant and later attended Everest College in 2000, where she completed her studies as a Medical Assistant.

She faithfully served Dallas Independent School District as a custodian for many years, touching the lives of students and staff through her charisma and care. She later utilized her medical skills and certifications and her passion for helping others for others in action through home healthcare.

In one of her greatest acts of love, she cared for her brother, Ross Brantley Jr., who lived with her for over five years as he courageously battled jaw cancer.

Anna was a devoted member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas, where she faithfully attended for over seven years. She loved her church deeply and often shared how much she enjoyed the teaching of her Executive Pastor, Rev. Hogg, whose messages brought her closer to God and she gave her life to Christ.

Anna will be remembered for her warmth, her strength, her charisma, and the genuine care she showed to everyone she encountered. Her life was a reflection of service, love, and devotion to family.

She leaves to cherish her memory three grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Christopher Brantley Jr. (CJ), Krishanna Brantley, and Antwone Brantley, all of Dallas, Texas; their mother, Dorothy Brantley, the widow of her late son, Christopher Brantley Sr.; her siblings, Ruth Lewis, Arlyne Brantley, Ernest Gamble Jr., Vanessa Rabb, Ross Brantley Jr., Inez Stringer, and Tracy Hooper, all of Texas; a very close friend, Gail Pratt of Dallas, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She leaves behind a lasting legacy of love and service that will never be forgotten.

"Well done, good and faithful servant...enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
