Obituary

Amos Jones, Sr. born in Gilmore, Texas, was the eldest of six children to Lemon Elizabeth Jones and Amos Clever. He attended Julia C. Frazier Elementary School and graduated from J.N. Ervin High School in Dallas. On July 12, 1969, he married Linda Faye Foster.

A devoted member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, where he was baptized by Rev. Floyd Harris, Amos later joined New Zion Baptist Church under Rev. Benny Brown. He was a talented machinist, starting his career at Cooper Airmotive before moving to Aviall, which later merged with Boeing. Amos had a passion for working on cars and enjoyed sharing his expertise with others.

Amos passed away on October 7, 2024. He is survived by his wife, Linda Faye Foster Jones; daughter, Ria La-Shaun Guy; sons, Amos Darwin Jones Jr.(Carmellow) , Foster Duane Jones, and Kyle Damond Jones; grandchildren, Jasmine La-Portia Griffin (Cornelious) and Ethan James Guy; great-grandchildren, Jahmila Skye Jones, Cornelious "CJ" Griffin Jr., and Cairon Lee Griffin; brothers, David Robison and the late Charles and Clifford Robinson; sisters, Bonnie Robinson-Patt and Brenda Robinson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
