Obituary

Alton Heath was born on October 6, 1949, in Morris County, Naples, Texas, to Mulkey Heath Sr. and Lorene Heath. Alton accepted Christ at an early age and lived his life rooted in faith, love, compassion, and service to others. He attended Carver High School and later graduated from Paul Pewitt High School in 1968, where he earned numerous awards and recognition for his exceptional accomplishments in football. Following graduation, he attended the University of North Texas, where he studied Biology.

Alton was united in marriage to his devoted wife, Janice Heath, and together they shared 55 beautiful years of love, commitment, and treasured memories. Their union was blessed with two loving children, Jonathan and Lakisha, whom he adored deeply. Alton dedicated many years of faithful service working at Fresenius Medical Dialysis Centers. Outside of his professional career, he was a passionate leader and mentor within his community. He proudly served as President of the Oak Cliff Lions organization and spent many years coaching soccer, basketball, and other youth sports.

Through his leadership, encouragement, and caring spirit, he positively impacted the lives of countless young people and families. Alton was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather and great grandfather, caring brother, uncle, godfather, mentor, and friend. He possessed a kind heart, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. His legacy of faith, wisdom, and service will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife, Janice Heath; adored children, Jonathan Heath (Tiffany) and Lakisha Heath; cherished grandchildren, Jacob, Mykah, Zarriel, Tzamiya, Zacari, and Zalen; and great-grandchild, Zeal. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, sister Roceythia Tillmon-Pollard and brother Mulkey Heath Jr. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Sandra Thompson, and niece, Yuvetta Heath. Alton also leaves treasured memories with his nephews and nieces, Robert Tillmon and Robinette Tillmon; his beloved godchildren, Shlonda Wright, Brian Kelly, Ryan Kelly, Jonathan Jacobs, Daniel Gay and Tracy Tyner; along with a host of cousins, relatives, and dear friends who will continue to honor and cherish his memory.

Though Alton has departed from this earthly life, the love he shared, the wisdom he imparted, and the lives he touched will continue to live on forever
