Obituary

Alroyce (Butchie Boy) Fields was born to the parentage of Al Ray Fields and Rosetta Fields on October 24, 1945 in Brownfield, Texas. He was called home to be with the Lord on July 11, 2017 at a tender age of 71.

Alroyce began his elementary education in Denver, Colorado and later graduated from J.O. Davis School in Irving, Texas. He also graduated from Southern Bible Institute in 2003 where he received a Theology Diploma.

Alroyce was raised with a strong Faith Foundation. His spiritual roots began at Shady Grove A.M.E. Methodist Church in Irving, Texas where he attended until his union with Wanda L. Harris. At that time Alroyce and Wanda Fields, and their children joined Ben Washington Baptist Church where he served for several years before uniting with New Beginnings at Mt. View Community Church in Dallas, Texas where he served as a Deacon until his passing.

After high school, Alroyce enlisted in the United States Army and fought in Vietnam, where he served until June 1968. After serving in the Army, he went on to work at General Motors until he retired.

Alroyce lived a full life where he touched the lives of many people. He enjoyed socializing with friends and family, listening to and playing music and he was an avid movie/western watcher. He was a compassionate man that was always willing to help friends, family, and anyone in need. Above all, he stressed the importance of having a personal relationship with God to his children.

Alroyce was proceeded in death by his father Mr. Al Ray Fields; his mother Mrs. Rosetta Purvis; his wife of 37 years Mrs. Wanda Fields; 2 brothers Mr. Randolph Reed and Mr. Clifford Reed; 3 sisters Ms. Carolyn King, Ms. Beverly Green, and Mrs. Doris Holmes.

Alroyce leaves his cherished memories to 3 daughters Ms. Wendy Degrate; Ms. Tywanna M. Fields; Ms. Torsha L. Fields; 1 son Mr. Tyrone L. Fields; 1 brother Mr. Harold Reed (Jean) of Houston, Texas; 2 sisters Ms. Eva Taylor of Grand Prairie, Texas and Ms. Pearl Green of Dallas, Texas; 9 grand children Ms. Cheirsten M. Braggs, Mr. Kevion D. Pratt, Miss Ze'boria T. Fields, Mr. Kalon L. Heim, Miss Erika A. Ellis, Miss Chenedi M. Fields, Miss Za'Tavia M. Fields, Mr. Darius D. Ellis, and Mr. Ze'cquire T. Fields; I great grandchild Mr. Noah Pratt; Special Friend Ms. Doris Goodwyn, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
