Alfa Henderson was born to the parentage of John Green and Rozelia Holden-Green on October 6, 1950 in Natchitoches Parish, Louisiana. She attended Shady Grove Elementary and Juion High School and graduated from Central High in 1968. She attended Contra Costa College in San Pablo, California. She accepted Christ at an early age with Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Marthaville, LA. She was an active member of The Order of Eastern Star and The Female Higher Degree Department. Alfa was a brilliant vocalist and loved to sing. She was a member of the Golden Girls Gospel Singers. Alfa met her "Better Half," Edward C Henderson in 1976. Alfa was a domestic engineer caring for her family and home.
