Aggus Johnson was the youngest of six children born on May
10, 1949, in Edgewood, Texas to the parentage of the late, A. C.
Wilson and Ester Mae (Caldwell) Wilson.
She was educated in the Dallas Independent School District and
attended the great Lincoln High School in sunny South Dallas.
She was employed by the Fairmont Hotel for 20 years until her
retirement in 2009.
Aggus married Tommy Ray Johnson on December 23, 1968, and
together they were blessed with three daughters.
Her home church of many years was Morning Star
Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas under the
pastoral leadership of the late Rev. Howard D. Gill and the
late W. L. Smith. Later in life she joined New Mt. Hebron
Baptist Church in Garland, Texas under the leadership of
the great late Pastor W.J. Davis who was also her brotherin-law.
Aggus was always the life of the party and everyone around her
always enjoyed being in her presence. Her family loved her dearly
as she was affectionately known as "Granny" "Grandmama," "GiGi,"
and "the Cool Auntie."
On January 5, 2024, Aggus Johnson heard the voice of the Lord
say, "Well done my child".
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother,
J. C. Wilson, and grandson, Drayton Jamal Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memories and celebrate her life,
three daughters: Tina Taylor (Edward), Sherry Green (Michael),
and Michelle Tucker (Steven); nine grandchildren: Deonte
Johnson, Darius Taylor, Darnell Taylor, Marcus Trice, Eric Wilson
Jr., Tamecia Grayson, Crystal Taylor, Trebora Grayson, and
Mikayla Hopkins; seven great grandchildren; four sisters: Esther
Davis, Ethel (Harold) Bryson, Ovella Davis, and Norma Gassaway;
brother in-law, Darryl Johnson; a nephew, a host of nieces, her
best friend, Sandra Davis, other relatives, and special friends.
