Adolphus Murphy
Sr.
December 17, 1945 – December 13, 2025
Adolphus Murphy Sr. was born on December 17, 1945 to the late Clarence and Zuler Murphy in Jefferson, Texas. He attended Macedonia Elementary School, Central Junior High, and Central High School. He continued his education at North Texas State University until he entered The United States Army. Adolphus was honorably discharged as a disabled veteran. He became a member of Macedonia United Methodist Church at an early age. He lived most of his life in Jefferson before moving to Dallas, TX.
Adolphus believed in helping family. He was the family driver for several years because neither of our parents could drive. He loved to eat fried chicken and watermelon. Driving, playing dominos and singing were his favorite things to do.
Adolphus was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, JOYCE Marie Murphy, and siblings: Wilbur Clarence Murphy, Felton Murphy, Eugene Carl Murphy, Claudine Crumby Harris, Dollie Mae Morrow, Charles Edward Murphy, Raymond Murphy, Charlie Ray Murphy, Arthur Lewis Murphy and George Allen Murphy. Those left to cherish his memory are: his son, Adolphus Murphy, Jr., Siblings: Ray Calvin Murphy (Guida) of Palestine, Tx, Sheldon Keith Murphy (Ngan Dang) of Arlington, Tx and Pamela Ann Murphy of Desoto, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Adolphus's memory will always be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
